Service Controller – Plant & Agricultural Machinery
We are a growing plant machinery specialist looking for an experienced and organised Service Controller to manage and coordinate our team of workshop and field service engineers.
Specialising in the maintenance, repair, and support of plant equipment, with a strong focus on Manitou handling equipment and Takeuchi excavators, we require someone who can effectively schedule work, communicate with customers, and ensure our engineering team operates efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Planning and scheduling daily workloads for workshop and mobile service engineers.
- Managing engineer diaries and allocating jobs based on priority, location, and skill set.
- Acting as the primary point of contact for customers regarding service, breakdowns, and repairs.
- Coordinating breakdown response and ensuring timely completion of work.
- Monitoring job progress and updating customers throughout the repair process.
- Raising job cards, quotations, and service documentation.
- Ordering and coordinating parts when required.
- Working closely with management and reporting back
- Maintaining accurate service records and administration systems.
- Ensuring all work is completed in line with company procedures and health and safety requirements.
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience in a Service Controller, Service Coordinator, Workshop Controller, or similar role.
- Strong organisational and planning skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
- Good IT skills and experience using service management systems.
- A proactive and problem-solving approach.
- Good people Management skills
Desirable Experience
- Knowledge of plant machinery, construction equipment, agricultural machinery, forklift trucks, or material handling equipment.
- Familiarity with Manitou, Takeuchi, or similar equipment manufacturers.
- Experience coordinating field service engineers.
