Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable, compassionate and dedicated Senior Care Assistant to join our team in providing exceptional care to residents in a care home setting. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for seniors, ensuring their comfort, dignity, and well-being. This role involves working closely with residents, their families, and the care team to implement individual care plans and support daily living activities.
Responsibilities
- Assist residents with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Support residents in daily activities, including meal preparation and feeding when necessary.
- Communicate effectively with residents to understand their needs and preferences.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and review care plans tailored to each resident’s requirements.
- Supervise junior staff members, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of resident care and report any changes in health or behaviour to management.
- Ensure a safe and clean environment for all residents by adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Engage residents in social activities that promote mental stimulation and emotional well-being.
Skills
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with residents, families, and colleagues.
- Experience in senior care or within a care home environment is highly desirable.
- Proficient IT skills for maintaining electronic records and documentation.
- Strong leadership abilities to supervise staff and foster a collaborative team environment.
- Capability to drive initiatives that enhance resident care quality.
- Knowledge of developing and implementing individualised care plans tailored to meet the specific needs of each resident.
