We are looking for a business minded and motivated individual to join our Newcastle team as a Business Development Associate. This is an entry level opportunity designed for someone who wants to build a serious career in business development, customer acquisition, commercial strategy or future leadership.
No previous business development experience is required. You will receive structured training, ongoing coaching and practical experience from the beginning. What matters most is that you communicate well, enjoy working with people and are ready to learn how a growing business operates.
The position could suit a graduate, career starter or someone moving from retail, hospitality, customer service, sport or another people focused role.
About the position
You will work alongside an experienced commercial team and support customer acquisition campaigns for established national and international brands.
This is a practical and customer facing business development role. You will speak with customers face to face, understand their needs, explain services clearly and help create positive commercial relationships.
Alongside your customer work, you will learn how campaigns are planned, how daily performance is measured and how businesses make decisions around growth.
What you will be doing
- Representing established brands professionally during customer conversations
- Building rapport with customers and understanding their individual needs
- Explaining products or services clearly and accurately
- Supporting customer acquisition and business growth targets
- Developing your communication, negotiation and presentation skills
- Recording customer information and campaign results correctly
- Reviewing your performance with managers and working towards agreed objectives
- Attending training sessions covering business development, customer behaviour and commercial awareness
- Sharing customer feedback and market observations with the wider team
- Supporting campaign planning and newer team members as your experience develops
