IMPROVING FUTURES
At Futures we’re committed to providing our customers with the best service possible on our mission to deliver ‘Great Places’, ‘Great Services’ and ‘Great Tomorrows’.
We’re on the lookout for a General Yard and Stores Person to join our Repairs Team and support the planned move of our depot. If you’re practical, organised, safety conscious and enjoy keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes, we’d love to hear from you.
This is a great opportunity to play an important part in the day to day running and upkeep of our yard and stores area. You’ll keep the site well maintained and easy to use, manage incoming items, monitor stock levels and make sure everything is where it needs to be.
You’ll make sure the depot works well for colleagues using it every day. From recording deliveries and arranging waste collections, to taking items out to operatives on site, your work will help teams deliver services safely and efficiently.
At interview you’ll need to show us your full UK driving licence. A forklift licence and knowledge of building maintenance products would be a bonus, but they’re not deal breakers. More importantly, you’ll be organised, willing to learn, aware of health and safety requirements and comfortable working with colleagues to get things done.
We know roles like this haven’t always attracted a wide mix of applicants, and we’re keen to change that. If you have the right attitude, take pride in being organised and are keen to learn, we’d encourage you to apply, even if you don’t tick every single box.
You’ll also look after site security, make sure everything is secure overnight and act as a main key holder. It’s a varied role where good communication, common sense and a proactive approach will make a big difference.
A few key things you’ll be doing:
-
Record and process deliveries promptly.
-
Support colleagues during the depot move.
-
Keep the yard, stores area and wider site tidy, safe and well maintained.
-
Monitor stock levels, record returned materials and reorder items when needed.
-
Arrange waste collections, take items to operatives on site and follow health and safety procedures.
Sounds like me, so what are you offering?
If you’re successful, you’ll be joining a supportive organisation with a great culture. We offer competitive benefits including private healthcare options, discount schemes and a strong focus on health and wellbeing. You’ll have opportunities to grow and develop, knowing you’re helping people and communities across our region to thrive.
This is a 37 hour per week role, working Monday to Thursday, 8:00am to 4:00pm, and Friday, 8:00am to 3:30pm, with 30 minutes for lunch. You’ll be paid monthly and get 25 days holiday plus bank holidays and concessionary days at Christmas.
We’ve also been awarded the coveted Investor in People Platinum award, the highest level of IiP accreditation, which recognises organisations that are passionate about helping colleagues feel supported, valued and able to do their best.
