We are currently recruiting for a Chef to join our team based in Seagate Springtown, Springtown Industrial Estate, Londonderry.
Contracted hours: 37.5 weekly.
Working hours: From 7:00am to 3:00pm and rostered 5 days over 7 (to include weekends)

The Chef will be responsible for the food service, HACCP, Health & Safety, Employee team, Cash and Locking up when on weekend service
Job/Role Responsibilities:
- To ensure that the Company's documentation and administration procedures are carried out to the laid down standard.
- To maintaining the prompt and efficient preparation and service of all meals and breaks at the required time, being provided to the standard of the food service offer(s) and laid down in the Service Level Agreement and to the Client's, Customer's and Sodexo’s satisfaction.
- To ensure that all food is prepared with due care and attention, particularly regarding customers’ special dietary requirements: for example, nut, dairy or wheat allergies.
- Maintaining the service for all Hospitality related activities, production service, clear down
- Ensure that all goods are correctly and quickly stored away on a ‘first in first out’ basis and comply with Health and Safety regulations.
- Comply with all Company & Client policies and procedures, site rules and statutory regulations including Health & Safety, food hygiene, safe working practices, cleanliness, fire and COSHH. This will include your awareness of any specific hazards in your workplace and completion of training.
- Ensure that all equipment used, is in safe working order, checked regularly. Report any faults to line manager, ensure they are rectified and ensure equipment is not used until safe
- To establish and maintain satisfactory relationships with individuals at all levels within the Company and the Client organisation.
- Ensure that temperatures of fridges, freezers and hot cupboards/serveries are monitored and recorded in line with Company regulations and the Food Safety Act
- To assist Head chef with stock taking if required.
- To assist Head chef with ordering supplies are ordered from nominated suppliers.
- To attend meetings and training courses as required.
- Deliver exceptional customer service to build valuable long term relationships with customers and the client
- Communicate to build relationships and interact appropriately with others
- Seek to raise standards and improve quality of performance and service
- Work effectively and professionally with others to achieve the desired results
The ideal candidate:
- Previous experience in a similar position and have the ability to work well in a busy environment
- Ability to work as part of a team in a busy kitchen environment & passion for flavour and food
- Self-starter with an excellent knowledge of and commitment to food hygiene best practices
- Team player with a hands on approach who is flexible and adaptable.
- Excellent oral and written English is necessary for this role
