Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Sous Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive culinary expertise, and a passion for delivering exceptional food experiences. As a key member of our kitchen management, you will assist the Executive Chef in overseeing daily operations, supervising kitchen staff, and ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality are maintained. Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Chef in planning and preparing high-quality dishes in accordance with menu specifications.
- Supervise and manage kitchen staff, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to health and safety regulations.
- Oversee food production processes, maintaining consistency and presentation standards across all dishes.
- Support team management by organising shifts, delegating tasks, and providing training to junior staff.
- Ensure compliance with food safety standards and maintain cleanliness throughout the kitchen environment.
- Monitor inventory levels, assist with stock ordering, and minimise waste to optimise kitchen operations.
- Contribute to menu development by suggesting new dishes and seasonal specials based on current trends and customer preferences.
- Uphold excellent customer service standards during service hours, including serving guests when required.
Experience
- Proven supervisory experience within a professional kitchen environment.
- Extensive background in food preparation, cooking, and food production across various cuisines.
- Demonstrable leadership skills with the ability to manage a team effectively under pressure.
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in hospitality settings.
- Previous restaurant experience is highly desirable, particularly within fast-paced or fine dining establishments.
- Experience in serving guests directly is advantageous but not essential; however, familiarity with hospitality operations is preferred. Pay: £15.00-£18.00 per hour
