At Let's Do Business Finance, we help start-ups and small businesses access responsible finance. We're looking for an enthusiastic Trainee Lending Manager to join our team and begin a structured pathway into lending and business finance.
No previous lending experience is required. We're looking for someone who is numerate, organised, eager to learn and keen to develop a career in lending, credit assessment and customer relationship management.
About the role
This development-focused role provides a structured pathway into lending. During your first year, you'll build experience in lending administration, case management, customer communication, CRM systems, compliance and loan processing.
As your knowledge and confidence grow, you'll begin supporting loan assessments, reviewing business information and learning how lending recommendations are prepared.
What you'll be doing in year one
· Support application processing, case tracking and document management.
· Maintain accurate CRM records and lending documentation.
· Complete identity, due diligence and compliance checks.
· Communicate with applicants and help progress applications.
· Learn how loan applications move from enquiry through to decision.
· Develop confidence using CRM, loan management systems and Microsoft Office.
· Shadow experienced Lending Managers and learn how lending decisions are made.
· Begin reviewing business plans, financial forecasts and supporting information.
Career Development
This role is designed as a pathway into lending. Through training, coaching and practical experience, you'll develop skills in financial analysis, credit assessment, customer relationship management and responsible lending, with clear opportunities for progression.
What we're looking for
We are looking for someone with the right attitude, potential and motivation to learn.
You'll ideally have:
- A Level, T Level or equivalent qualification in finance, business, accounting, economics or a related subject.
- A strong interest in business finance, lending, banking or responsible finance.
- Good numerical and analytical skills.
- Confidence working with information, documents and spreadsheets.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Good attention to detail and accuracy.
- A professional and helpful approach to customer service.
- Strong organisation and the ability to manage competing tasks.
- A willingness to learn, receive feedback and develop over time.
- Confidence using Microsoft Office, with an interest in learning CRM and finance systems.
- The ability to work as part of a team.
