Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Porter to join our vibrant kitchen team TUESDAY TO SUNDAY 11-15 17-21/22PM. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our culinary staff by ensuring the kitchen is clean, organised, and well-equipped. This position is perfect for individuals looking to gain experience in a fast-paced restaurant or hotel environment while contributing to the overall success of our culinary operations.
Responsibilities
- Assist with food preparation tasks, including washing, peeling, and chopping vegetables.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen by washing dishes, pots, and pans promptly.
- Support chefs during service by ensuring that all necessary utensils and ingredients are readily available.
- Clean and sanitise kitchen surfaces, equipment, and storage areas regularly.
- Help with the organisation of stock and supplies, ensuring everything is stored correctly.
- Dispose of waste in accordance with health and safety regulations.
- Assist in receiving deliveries and storing food items appropriately.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operation during busy periods.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a kitchen environment is preferred but not essential; we welcome those eager to learn.
- A basic understanding of food preparation techniques is advantageous.
- Familiarity with health and safety standards within a culinary setting.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively under pressure.
- A positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
- Experience in hospitality or restaurant settings will be considered an asset.
