Bank Vaccinator – Autumn/Winter Vaccination Programme
£15.75 per hour during standard hours (Mon-Fri 8am - 6pm)
£20.50 per hour for weekends
Zero-hours contract (employed) or locum basis considered
We are looking for experienced and reliable Bank Vaccinators to support the delivery of our autumn and winter flu, COVID-19 and RSV vaccination programmes.
Dates required to work for this post:
Saturday 3rd October - Morning
Saturday 24th October - Morning
There may be the opportunity for further clinics throughout the season depending on demand and uptake of the vaccinations.
The role is suitable for registered healthcare professionals, including:
- Nurses
- Midwives
- Pharmacy Technicians
- Pharmacists
- Paramedics
- Dietitians
- Occupational Therapists
- Physiotherapists
- Podiatrists
- Dental Nurses
Applications are also welcomed from clinicians currently working on a locum or self-employed basis, otherwise successful applicants will be engaged under a zero-hours contract.
Main duties
The role will primarily involve:
- Administering intramuscular vaccinations safely and effectively
- Completing appropriate clinical checks before vaccination
- Providing patients with relevant information and reassurance
- Maintaining accurate clinical records
- Following all relevant clinical protocols, policies and infection-control procedures
- Responding appropriately to adverse reactions and clinical concerns
- Supporting the safe and efficient running of vaccination clinics
Essential requirements
Applicants must:
- Have previous experience of administering intramuscular vaccinations
- Hold current, unrestricted registration with an appropriate professional body, i.e. the NMC, HCPC, GPhC or GDC
- Be confident working independently within their professional competence and agreed clinical protocols
- Be willing to complete any required campaign-specific training and competency assessments
- Be available for shifts during October and November
- Be willing to undergo an Enhanced DBS check
Availability may include daytime, evening and weekend clinics.
Shifts will be offered according to service requirements, and there is no guarantee of a minimum number of hours.

Experience:
- Injection administration: 1 year (required)
- working under PGD (Patient Group Directive): 1 year (preferred)
- flu vaccination: 1 year (required)
- COVID vaccination: 1 year (required)
- RSV vaccination: 1 year (preferred)
Licence/Certification:
- and in date anaphylaxis and resuscitation certificate (preferred)
- DBS issued in the last 12 months (or update service member) (preferred)
- NMC / GPhC / HCPC / GDC registration without restriction (required)
Work authorisation:

Work Location: In person
