Key responsibilities:
- Prepare and craft high-quality sushi, sashimi, and rolls according to restaurant standards
- Ensure the freshness and proper handling of seafood and other ingredients
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation following food safety regulations
- Develop and create new sushi menu items based on customer preferences and seasonal ingredients
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed
- Train and supervise junior kitchen staff on sushi preparation techniques
- Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality and presentation standards
- Communicate with front-of-house staff to fulfill customer orders accurately and promptly
- Adhere to health, safety, and sanitation guidelines at all times
- Engage with customers when necessary to explain ingredients, techniques, and recommendations
Previous experience working in fast-paced sushi bars/kitchens highly desirable.
