Woodyard Garage is a busy, well-established independent garage in Redditch with a strong local reputation and a customer base that keeps growing. We look after people properly, with no upselling, no jargon and no surprises, and that's why our customers keep coming back.
We're now expanding our front-of-house team and have two full-time positions available.
The Role
You'll be the first person our customers speak to, and a big part of how the day runs. Working alongside our Service Manager, you'll handle the diary, look after customers from drop-off to collection, and keep the workshop flowing.
This is a proper role in a small, close team, not a call centre. You'll be trained, supported, and given room to take ownership of your part of the day.
What you'll be doing
- Answering calls and booking work into the diary
- Greeting customers, handling vehicle drop-offs and collections
- Keeping customers updated on their vehicle through the day
- Managing keys and job cards
- General front-desk admin and keeping the reception area sharp
- Occasional local vehicle collections and deliveries
What we're looking for
- Friendly and confident with people, in person and on the phone
- Well organised, and you notice when something's been missed
- Calm and efficient when it gets busy, because it does
- Reliable and proactive, someone who gets stuck in
- Comfortable with basic IT such as booking systems, email and WhatsApp
- A full UK driving licence is helpful for the occasional vehicle move, but not essential
You don't need garage experience. If you've worked in retail, hospitality, a dental or GP reception, or anywhere else that's taught you to look after people while juggling a busy day, we'll teach you the rest.
Hours & Pay:
- Full-time, permanent. Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm
- No weekends
- £12.71 to £13.00 per hour, depending on experience (approx. £26,400 to £27,000 per year)
- Based at our Redditch workshop
