Overview
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Customer Service Till Operator to join our retail team. The ideal candidate will deliver exceptional service to customers, manage transactions accurately, and contribute to a welcoming shopping environment. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with strong communication skills and organisational abilities to thrive in a fast-paced retail setting. Fluency in multiple languages, particularly English and Spanish, is highly desirable to assist a diverse customer base.
Duties
- Operate the till efficiently, processing sales transactions swiftly and accurately
- Greet customers warmly and provide assistance as needed
- Handle cash, card payments, and other payment methods with precision
- Upsell products and promote ongoing offers to maximise sales opportunities
- Maintain an organised checkout area and ensure stock levels are adequate at the till point
- Assist customers with enquiries regarding products, promotions, or store policies
- Ensure adherence to phone etiquette when managing customer calls or inquiries
- Support merchandising activities by arranging products attractively on shelves
- Manage time effectively during busy periods to reduce queues and improve customer experience
Skills
- Excellent communication skills in English; proficiency in Spanish is highly advantageous
- Multilingual or bilingual abilities to serve a diverse clientele effectively
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in handling transactions and stock management
- Basic maths skills for cash handling and calculating totals or discounts accurately
- Effective time management to prioritise tasks during peak hours
- Good phone etiquette for managing customer calls professionally
- Upselling skills to enhance sales while maintaining excellent customer service standards
- Ability to work well within a team and adapt quickly in a dynamic retail environment
