We are seeking a talented and experienced Chef to join our team.
The Mildmay Arms is under new ownership and we are seeking a Chef to help develop a new menu to help us standout in a competitive market.
Friday, Saturday & Sundays are our main priority, but flexibility to work other days is needed.
The ideal candidate will possess a passion for food, exceptional leadership skills, and a strong background in kitchen operations.
This role offers an exciting opportunity to oversee food preparation, manage kitchen staff, and ensure the highest standards of food safety and quality are maintained.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise kitchen staff to ensure efficient food production and service
- Oversee all aspects of food preparation, including cooking, plating, and presentation
- Develop and implement innovative menus in line with current culinary trends and customer preferences
- Maintain strict adherence to food safety standards and hygiene regulations
- Manage inventory, order supplies, and control costs effectively
- Train and mentor team members to enhance their skills and performance
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery
- Monitor kitchen operations to optimise workflow and minimise waste
- Ensure all dishes meet quality standards before serving to customers
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a supervisory role within a professional kitchen environment
- Extensive knowledge of food production, preparation, and cooking techniques
- Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate staff
- Solid understanding of food safety regulations and best practices in hospitality settings
- Previous experience working in restaurants or similar establishments is highly desirable
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively under pressure
- Passion for culinary arts with a keen eye for detail in food presentation
- Good communication skills to coordinate with team members and management
