Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Room Leader Childcare Practitioner to oversee and support the daily operations of a vibrant childcare setting. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children, ensuring high standards of care and education are maintained. Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise a designated group of children, ensuring their safety, wellbeing, and developmental needs are met
- Plan, implement, and evaluate age-appropriate activities that promote learning and development in line with early childhood education standards
- Support and mentor junior staff members, fostering a collaborative team environment
- Maintain accurate records of children's progress, attendance, and behavioural notes
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding children's progress and daily activities
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and safeguarding policies within the setting
- Organise daily routines including meal times, rest periods, and outdoor play
- Contribute to the organisation of staff rotas and resource management to optimise service delivery
Qualifications
- Proven management and leadership experience within a childcare or nursery setting
- Extensive experience working with children, ideally within early childhood education or nursery environments
- Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Relevant childcare qualifications such as NVQ Level 3 OR CCLD in Childcare or equivalent recognised qualification
- Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and health & safety regulations in childcare settings
- Valid driving licence is preferred but not essential; flexibility to travel may be required for certain roles
- Passionate about early childhood development with a nurturing approach to children's learning experiences
Pay: £13.50-£14.00 per hour
