Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Veterinary Care Assistant to join our veterinary practice. Responsibilities
- Assist veterinary surgeons and nurses during consultations, examinations, and procedures
- Handle animals with care and compassion, ensuring their safety and comfort
- Prepare and sterilise equipment and surgical instruments in accordance with hygiene standards
- Support laboratory work, including sample collection, processing, and basic analysis
- Maintain accurate records of animal treatments, laboratory results, and other relevant documentation
- Clean and disinfect kennels, treatment areas, and other clinical spaces regularly
- Monitor animals post-procedure or surgery under supervision
- Restock supplies and ensure the clinic remains organised and well-maintained
Qualifications
- Previous experience working in a veterinary practice or laboratory environment is essential; training will be provided
- Genuine interest in animal welfare and healthcare
- Ability to handle animals gently and confidently across different species
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities within a busy clinical setting

Pay: £24,784.50-£26,436.80 per year
