About Us
D.Thomas Clinic is an award-winning skin and laser clinic in Chelsea, founded by Debbie Thomas.
We are known for expert treatments, honest advice and a highly personalised approach to skin. Our therapists work across a wide range of advanced technologies and treatment methods, combining them where appropriate to create individual treatment plans rather than following a one-size-fits-all approach.
We are now looking for an Aesthetic Therapist to join our team.
This role would suit someone who is genuinely passionate about skin, enjoys hands-on treatment work and wants to build a long-term career within a high-standard, founder-led clinic.
We are open to candidates at different stages of their aesthetics career, from an experienced and proven laser and skin therapist who can become productive quickly, through to an exceptional therapist from a premium spa, salon or skin background who is ready to progress into advanced aesthetics.
The Role
This is a hands-on treatment role, but technical ability is only part of what matters to us.
We are looking for someone warm, professional, hardworking and genuinely team-focused. Someone who takes pride in their work, cares about their clients and understands that delivering a five-star experience means paying attention to every part of the client journey.
You will be expected to build strong relationships with clients, carry out advanced skin and laser treatments appropriate to your training level, confidently recommend suitable treatment and homecare plans, maintain detailed treatment records and support clients throughout their journey with us.
You will also work closely with your therapist colleagues, Front of House and management teams to keep the clinic running smoothly. You must be a team player in all areas of the business.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Carrying out skin, laser and aesthetic treatments to a consistently high standard, appropriate to your level of training and sign-off.
- Consulting with clients and recommending appropriate treatment plans based on their skin, goals and suitability.
- Building long-term client relationships based on trust, expertise and excellent care.
- Rebooking clients and recommending appropriate treatments and homecare where relevant.
- Maintaining accurate consultation notes, treatment records and before-and-after photography.
- Following clinic protocols, safety procedures and treatment guidelines at all times.
- Supporting client follow-up and communicating any concerns appropriately with the wider team.
- Working closely with Front of House to keep client journeys, appointments and treatment days running smoothly.
- Supporting other therapists and management when needed. We work as a team, not in isolation.
- Keeping treatment rooms, shared areas, staff spaces and reception areas clean, organised and properly stocked.
- Taking responsibility for equipment, stock and the presentation of your working environment.
- Contributing positively to the culture and standards of the clinic.
What We’re Looking For
We are looking for someone with a strong treatment background and a genuine interest in advanced skin and laser work.
You may already be an experienced aesthetic and laser therapist, or you may come from a strong five-star spa, salon, skin or premium beauty background and be ready to progress into advanced aesthetics.
Ideally, you will have:
- At least three years’ professional treatment experience within a premium or five-star clinic, spa, salon or aesthetics environment.
- Hands-on experience with advanced skin and/or laser treatments would be a strong advantage.
- Strong laser experience, particularly skin-focused treatments, would be highly desirable for more senior applicants.
- Experience working with technologies such as Fotona, Lumenis M22 or Stellar M22, LaseMD, DEKA Motus Pro, LDM Triple, HydraFacial, Exceed or similar professional systems would be an advantage.
- Level 4 or Level 5 Laser/IPL qualification strongly preferred for experienced applicants.
- Strong consultation skills and confidence discussing treatment plans, rebooking and appropriate homecare.
- Proven experience delivering a high standard of client service, professionalism and teamwork in a busy, premium environment.
- Excellent spoken and written English.
- A professional, mature and reliable approach to work.
- The ability to work calmly and consistently during busy clinic days.
If your laser experience is limited but you have an excellent background in a five-star spa, salon, skin or premium treatment environment, we may still consider you for our development pathway.
Candidates without a Level 4 or 5 Laser/IPL qualification may still be considered if their overall experience and suitability are strong.
Where the qualification is required, the cost would be the responsibility of the therapist. We can, however, support you with a manageable payment plan and reasonable flexibility around working hours to help you complete the course alongside your role.
Two Routes Into the Role
We know that the right therapist does not always come from exactly the same background.
Experienced Aesthetic & Laser Therapist
If you already have several years of strong laser and advanced skin experience, excellent consultation skills and a proven ability to build, retain and commercially manage a client base, you would join towards the upper end of our salary range.
You would still complete D.Thomas-specific training across our treatment approach, technologies and standards, but we would expect you to become confident and productive relatively quickly.
Aesthetic Therapist – Development Pathway
We will also consider an exceptional therapist from a strong five-star spa, salon, premium beauty or skin background who has excellent hands-on treatment skills, client care and work ethic but limited advanced aesthetics or laser experience.
For the right person, we can provide a structured development pathway into advanced skin and laser treatments.
You would join at a salary appropriate to your current technical level, with progression as your treatment skills, qualifications, confidence and performance develop.
Whichever route you join through, the same qualities matter: warmth, work ethic, teamwork, professionalism, commitment and a genuine passion for skin.
The Person We’re Looking For
The right personality matters just as much as technical experience.
We are looking for someone who brings a positive, can-do attitude to work and genuinely wants to be part of a successful five-star team.
You should be the sort of person who helps when something needs doing rather than deciding it is someone else’s job.
You take pride in your treatment room, but also notice if reception needs support, stock needs replacing or a colleague needs help.
You are warm and attentive with clients, easy to work alongside and able to take feedback professionally.
You care about doing things properly and understand that consistency, reliability and attention to detail are part of delivering excellent treatment results.
We are also looking for someone who wants to stay, develop and grow in a role.
Training and Development
Every therapist joining D.Thomas is trained in our treatment approach and standards.
Your training programme will depend on your existing experience and technical level.
Experienced therapists will complete D.Thomas-specific training and sign-off across our treatment methods, technologies and client journey.
Therapists joining through the development pathway will receive more structured training and progression into advanced skin and laser treatments over time.
We have an extensive range of advanced technology, giving the right therapist the opportunity to continue developing their technical knowledge and treatment skills.
Hours
This is a full-time role working a four-day week on a rolling rota.
Our clinic operates seven days a week and until 8pm, so the rota includes some evenings and some weekends.
Salary and Benefits
- £28,000–£38,000 basic salary after successful probation, depending on relevant experience, qualifications and technical level. OTE once client base has been built up and commission is strong £55,00.00+
- Commission in addition to basic salary
- Experienced laser and aesthetic therapists with strong consultation, client retention and commercial experience would typically join towards the upper end of the range.
- Therapists joining through the development pathway would typically start towards the lower end while receiving a greater level of technical training and support.
- Clear salary progression as technical skills, qualifications, responsibility and performance develop.
- Four-long day working week.
- Rolling rota.
- Extensive treatment and technology training.
- Ongoing professional development.
- Discretionary complimentary treatments.
- Staff rates on skincare products.
- Discretionary friends and family treatment benefits.
- The opportunity to build a long-term career within a respected, growing clinic.
