Kingsley and Co is a magical children’s bookshop and literacy project based in Bootle seeking to change lives through literacy and creative outreach projects. We are seeking a Kitchen Manager with a fun and creative flair to drive forward our food and drink offer to reflect our innovative and quirky approach, and ambition to become a destination venue.
The right candidate for this job will be enthusiastic, creative and passionate about people, stories and good food, with experience at working to deliver high quality food and supporting volunteers to learn.

The post if full time, 35 hours including Saturdays, some evenings, Sunday /Monday Off. Part time ie; 25 hours could be considered.
Responsibilities
- Lead the daily operations of the café, ensuring smooth and efficient service.
- Supervise and motivate staff to deliver excellent customer experiences.
- Manage food preparation, cooking, and food safety standards.
- Oversee inventory management and ordering processes.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
- Support team development through coaching and training.
- Collaborate with other departments to promote community engagement initiatives.
- Qualifications
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent knowledge of food safety standards.
- Ability to supervise food preparation and kitchen operations.
- Experience in supervising staff and managing a team.
- Exceptional communication and organizational skills.
- Previous hospitality or culinary experience is highly desirable.
- A passion for working with children and community development is a plus.
- A full driver's licence
