Willow House is a children's residential home providing high-quality, nurturing care for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). We are looking for an experienced, values-driven Registered Manager to lead our home, ensuring every child feels safe, supported, and able to thrive.
About the Role
As Registered Manager, you will hold overall responsibility for the day-to-day running of Willow House, ensuring the home consistently meets and exceeds the Children's Homes' Quality Standards and delivers outstanding, individualised care. You will lead, develop, and support a team of dedicated staff, working closely with the Responsible Individual, placing authorities, families, and external professionals.
Key Responsibilities
- Hold registration with Ofsted as the home's Registered Manager, maintaining full compliance with the Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and the home's Statement of Purpose
- Lead, recruit, supervise, and develop a team of Residential Support Workers and Deputy Managers, including rotas, training, and performance management
- Ensure care planning is individualised, trauma-informed, and responsive to each child's SEND-related needs
- Oversee safeguarding practice, ensuring robust systems for child protection, missing-from-care procedures, and safe use of behaviour support/physical intervention
- Manage admissions and matching to ensure new placements are safe and appropriate for the existing group of children
- Build strong working relationships with placing authorities, schools, health professionals, and families
- Complete statutory monitoring, including Regulation 45 reviews of quality of care, and act on findings from Regulation 44 independent visits and Ofsted inspections
- Manage the home's budget, health and safety compliance, and general operational management
- Champion children's voice and participation in all aspects of home life
What We're Looking For
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent), or willingness to work towards this
- Significant experience working with children and young people, including experience relevant to SEND (e.g. autism, learning disabilities, SEMH needs)
- Proven experience in a management or senior leadership role within a residential childcare setting
- Strong working knowledge of the Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015, Quality Standards, and safeguarding legislation
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills
- A calm, compassionate, and resilient approach, with a genuine commitment to improving outcomes for children
- Full UK driving licence [if required]
- Enhanced DBS check (we will arrange this)
Pay: £30,859.78-£57,716.98 per year
