Job Overview
Are you a senior care coordinator, field supervisor or deputy who is ready for more — but blocked where you are because your manager isn't going anywhere? This role is built for you.
You will join as Deputy Care Manager, running the office day to day alongside three experienced Care Managers, with a defined path to become our CQC Registered Manager within 6–12 months. We will fund and support your Level 5, mentor you through registration, and review your salary to £45,000+ when you register.
We deliver premium domiciliary care to older people in Watford and across Hertfordshire, with a client base that is predominantly private (self-funding). We are ambitious about growth and we invest in the people who deliver it.
Responsibilities
- Lead the team day to day — supervisions, team meetings, on-call oversight, and supporting our Care Professionals so they stay and thrive.
- Learn quality and CQC from the inside — audits, care plan reviews, medication checks and inspection readiness, working alongside Care Managers.
- Get out into the community one day a week — a protected day building referral relationships with GP practices, hospital discharge teams and local professionals. We will train you; you bring the energy.
- Own recording and reporting — care hours, compliance and retention KPIs to the ownership team. You'll learn how the business actually works, not just the care.
- Solve problems calmly under pressure — rotas change, people call in sick, families worry. You are the steady hand.
Requirements
- Experience in domiciliary or adult social care at senior carer, coordinator, field supervisor, deputy or care manager level.
- Evidence of leading people — a team you supervised, a rota you ran, a crisis you steadied. Formal management titles matter less than what you actually did.
- Level 3 Diploma in Adult Care (Level 5 started or the willingness to start it with our funding).
- The ambition to register with CQC as Registered Manager within a year.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
