Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered General Nurse to join our dynamic healthcare team here at Med Team. In this vital role, you will provide high-quality patient care, support medical teams, and ensure the well-being of patients across diverse clinical settings, mainly in this case an AMU within an NHS Hospital in Swansea.
Your expertise in anatomy, medication administration, and patient-centred care will be essential in delivering safe, effective, and empathetic nursing services. Duties
- Assess patient conditions through thorough examinations and accurate documentation of symptoms and medical histories before the decision is made to transfer them to their next level of care from the AMU to other units / Home.
- Administer prescribed medications safely and monitor patients for adverse reactions or side effects
- Collaborate with doctors, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Educate patients and their families on health management, medication usage, and post-discharge care instructions
- Maintain strict adherence to infection control protocols and uphold hygiene standards within clinical areas
- Monitor vital signs regularly, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates
- Respond promptly to patient needs, emergencies, or changes in condition with professionalism and compassion
Skills
- Strong knowledge of human anatomy and physiology to accurately assess patient needs
- Exceptional patient care skills with a focus on empathy, communication, and reassurance
- Proficiency in medication administration following safety guidelines and legal requirements
- Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams in fast-paced environments
- Excellent organizational skills for managing multiple patient cases simultaneously
- Clear documentation practices to ensure accurate medical records and compliance with regulations
Experience / Requirements
- Candidates must have UK Nursing experience before being considered for these positions
- Band 5 Upwards Level of Nursing Required
- Experience within NHS environments an advantage, but would also look at suitable Private Sector Experience linked to AMU duties
- NMC Pin
- Enhanced DBS (Preferably registered on the update service)
- Compliance Certification in line with NHS requirements. If candidates need assistance with this then Med Team can help.

Further to this position we are also recruiting for NHS Band 5 upwards Nurses in Cardiff & Vale of Glamorgan, as well as for Private Sector Nursing homes across South Wales. Rates will vary depending on organisation and sometimes levels of experience that you can offer each position.
