Planned Start date : From 2nd November
Attendance at ward team meetings and chair these meetings when required.
Medical leadership to the multidisciplinary ward team.
Medical/psychiatric assessments for care planning and risk assessment.
Formulation and delivery of appropriate pharmacological and psychological interventions to aid recovery.
Undertake Seclusion reviews as necessary.
Attendance at Tribunal hearings for people detained under Mental Health Act.
Completion of administrative tasks necessary for clinical responsibilities.
Writing of Mental Health Review Tribunal Reports or reports to other agencies.
Liaison with members of other teams to transfer patients into and out of inpatient service.
Attendance at CPA reviews and pre-discharge planning meetings.
Clinical supervision of junior medical staff
Teaching of undergraduate medical students.
Attendance at weekly CPD sessions.
Attendance at Monthly Governance meetings and Leadership meeting.
Will be supported through monthly clinical supervision.

Our new ward is an acute mental health inpatient ward, which has 12 beds, all of which are individual rooms with ensuite facilities. It has a full multidisciplinary team (medical, nursing, occupational therapy, pharmacy, psychology, housekeeping, administrative & physiotherapy staff) providing acute inpatient care.
Every service user admitted to the ward has a care plan which outlines specific details of the treatment and support they will be offered.
This includes a named nurse who will be allocated to each service user. The named nurse will work closely with service users throughout their time on the ward and will coordinate their plan of care.
Service users on the ward will have access to professionals such as Nurses, Psychiatrists, Psychologists, non-medical Approved Clinicians (AC’s), Psychologists, Support Workers and Occupational Therapists.
The Ward is located at The Michael Carlisle Centre. It is accessible on foot, by several public transport routes, there are railings to park a bicycle or there is also a car park on site.
