In this vital role, you will be responsible for safely operating heavy goods vehicles (HGVs) to transport pallets across various locations. Duties
- Safely operate flatbed trucks and other HGVs to deliver pallets to designated locations
- Conduct thorough pre-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure safety standards are met
- Load and unload pallets efficiently, adhering to proper handling procedures
- Plan delivery routes effectively to optimize time and fuel efficiency
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation, logs, and records of all trips
- Communicate proactively with dispatch teams regarding delivery statuses or any issues encountered
- Follow all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies during every journey
Qualifications
- Valid HGV license with a clean driving record
- Proven experience as a commercial driver or delivery driver, preferably with pallet yard operations
- Familiarity with flatbed truck operation and using a forklift
- Strong understanding of road safety regulations and best driving practices
- Ability to navigate using GPS systems and plan efficient routes
- Excellent communication skills and a professional attitude on the road
