Baylis is proud to be launching an exciting new dealership in Gloucester, representing the innovative electric vehicle brand Leapmotor, the trusted and established Mitsubishi franchise, and a carefully selected used car operation with a stock profile of approximately 30–40 vehicles.
This is a unique opportunity for an ambitious and energetic Sales Manager to play a pivotal role in shaping a new dealership from the ground up. We are looking for a leader who thrives on building success, driving performance and leading by example.
The Role
As Sales Manager, you will take full responsibility for the sales operation across new and used vehicles, creating a high-performing culture while delivering exceptional customer experiences.
This is not a desk-based management role. We are looking for a hands-on, visible leader who enjoys being on the showroom floor, engaging with customers, supporting the team and leading from the front.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, motivate and develop the sales team to achieve and exceed targets.
- Drive new vehicle sales for Leapmotor and Mitsubishi alongside a used car stock of 30–40 vehicles.
- Maintain exceptional standards of customer service and customer satisfaction.
- Manage the sales process from enquiry to delivery, ensuring excellent conversion rates.
- Monitor stock levels, vehicle preparation and merchandising standards.
- Deliver strong F&I performance and profitability.
- Recruit, coach and develop team members to maximise their potential.
- Build relationships within the local community and identify new business opportunities.
- Produce accurate reporting and ensure compliance with manufacturer and company standards.
About You
You will be an experienced automotive sales professional with a proven track record of delivering results and developing people.
You will be:
- An experienced Sales Manager or an ambitious Transaction Manager ready for the next step.
- Commercially minded with strong leadership and organisational skills.
- Passionate about customer experience and team development.
- Hands-on, energetic and comfortable rolling your sleeves up to support the operation whenever needed.
- Driven by success and motivated by the opportunity to build something special.
- Experienced in used car management and stock control.
- Knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the evolving automotive landscape, particularly electric vehicles.

Ability to commute/relocate:
- Gloucester, Gloucestershire: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
Experience:
- Retail sales: 3 years (preferred)
- Management: 3 years (preferred)
Licence/Certification:
