Job Summary
We are seeking a professional HGV Class 2 Tipper Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely operating a tipper lorry, delivering materials to various sites, and ensuring timely and efficient service. This role requires a reliable driver with excellent driving skills, mechanical knowledge, and the ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members. The position offers an opportunity to work within a dynamic environment, supporting our ongoing projects and operational needs.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate a Class 2 HGV tipper lorry in accordance with current road safety regulations and company policies
- Deliver materials to designated locations, ensuring punctuality and accuracy of deliveries
- Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, reporting any mechanical issues promptly
- Assist with loading and unloading materials as required, utilising warehouse experience when necessary
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and fuel consumption
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, clients, and team members regarding schedules and delivery requirements
- Adhere to health and safety standards at all times during operations
- Assist with basic vehicle maintenance tasks if needed, demonstrating mechanical knowledge
Requirements
- Valid UK HGV Class 2 (Category C) licence with relevant driving experience
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role involving commercial driving
- Knowledge of flatbed and tipper vehicle operation preferred
- Strong communication skills to liaise professionally with clients and colleagues
- Warehouse experience is advantageous for loading/unloading tasks
- Mechanical knowledge to identify basic vehicle issues and assist with minor repairs
- A <PERSON> driver qualification is desirable but not essential
- Good organisational skills with the ability to plan routes efficiently
- Ability to work independently and responsibly in a fast-paced environment
