Personal Assistant/ Complex Care – Join My Care Team (Waking Nights available) – Plymouth
I'm seeking waking nights team members. It is essential that you are diligent, conscensious and with an eye for detail and have good medical knowledge. Ideally you would be familiar with Bi-Pap, cough assist or have a strong desire to learn.
The basics
- £15.00–£16.00 per hour (waking nights )
- Rotas published 3 weeks in advance
- Paid training, free DBS, workplace pension, Blue Light Card eligibility, enhanced bank holiday pay.
- You'd be working directly for me rather than through an agency, which means a steady team, regular hours, and you actually get to know everyone in the team properly.
- I value team members with relevant experience of Complex Care, I also welcome those with lived experience of managing home ventilation.
- No visa sponsorship available – you must already have the right to work in the UK
About me: I like a wide variety of music; I have an interest in the natural world and a keen interest in trains and films.
The shifts We're recruiting for waking nights
- Waking nights: 21:00 to 08:00, 2-3 nights per week including alternate weekends
What you'd be doing (training provided):
- Supporting my breathing – I use a ventilator and cough-assist machine 24/7. Full professional training is provided, as this is a clinical skill. You will receive constant support/shadowing to fulfill your role.
- Observe and monitor my ventilator and me through out the night.
- Suctioning when required
- Moving me safely using a ceiling track hoist
- Personal care, assistance with feeding, giving medication
- Helping with daily physiotherapy exercises
- Light housework around the home
What I'm looking for:
- Competent professional care and support worker, with good common sense.
- Happy in a small team and confident lone-working for most of the night.
- Willing to learn – aptitude and empathy are very important too.
- Comfortable to handle medical equipment once trained.
- Someone with some care experience (paid, unpaid, family, or healthcare student placements all count). We can teach you the rest.
