Job Summary
Join our dynamic culinary team as a Kitchen Porter/Kitchen Assistant, where your energy and enthusiasm will help keep our kitchen running smoothly and efficiently! Duties
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks, including washing, peeling, chopping, and organizing ingredients to support chefs and kitchen staff
- Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen surfaces, utensils, equipment, and storage areas to meet health and safety standards
- Support with dishwashing duties, ensuring all crockery, cutlery, and cookware are sanitized and ready for use
- Help with waste disposal and recycling processes to keep the kitchen environment tidy and environmentally friendly
- Restock supplies and ingredients as needed to ensure smooth kitchen operations during service times
- Follow health and safety procedures diligently to prevent accidents and maintain a safe working environment
- Sandwich and salad preparation
- Support the team during busy periods by assisting with serving or other hospitality tasks as required
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality setting is preferred but not essential; enthusiasm and willingness to learn are key!
- Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques such as washing, peeling, or chopping ingredients
- Familiarity with kitchen equipment and cleanliness standards is advantageous
- Strong teamwork skills with a positive attitude towards supporting colleagues in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to follow instructions carefully and adhere to health and safety regulations
- Good physical stamina to stand for extended periods and perform manual tasks effectively
- A genuine interest in hospitality, cooking, or culinary arts is a plus!
