Burton Constable Holiday Park is the ideal location to get away from it all. Situated in 18th Century Parkland in the heart of the East Yorkshire countryside, the Park is just 8 miles from Hull city centre with its bustling restaurants, independent and high street shops, quirky museums and Britain’s most spectacular aquarium, yet only 7 miles from the Holderness coast.
We are a family-run business, and we are looking for someone to join the Burton Constable Holiday Park family. The role we need to fill is Assistant Bar Manager to work in our on site-bar. You will work to support our Bar Manager in the daily operation of the venue and to provide a first class service to our customers.
We have recently invested in bringing a kitchen into the Bar. Our Touring Park Ranger is a keen chef, and in his time off loves to prepare slow-cooked dexter beef, lamb, and venison for our customers, sourced from some farmer friends who graze our grass 200 yards away. At a minimum, you will be able to prepare the simple menu we have (pizzas, chips, pre-cooked lamb shawarmas, beef butties etc.) and work closely with the Bar Manager to make snacks available throughout the week. If you are a keen chef, the world is your oyster!
As we are a holiday business, your shifts may well be over weekends, bank holidays, and school holidays throughout the year. Previous supervisory experience is required, in either a Bar or Retail environment, and you must be flexible in your approach to working.
This will start at 25 hours per week with the capacity for more:
On-season (May to September)
Friday, Saturday, Sunday: alternate weekends 1pm-6pm and 6pm-close
Wednesday & Thursday: alternate weeks 1pm-6pm and 5pm-close
Off-season (October to April)
Friday, Saturday, Sunday: alternate weekends 1pm-6pm and 6pm-close
Wednesday & Thursday: 5pm-10pm (mostly in the kitchen)
We are interested in hearing from people looking for a permanent role, not just a stopgap. The job is part-time but could become full-time in due course if desired and if they could eventually handle ordering stock, administrative work, line cleaning, and other tasks. We are aiming to have this position filled ready to start as soon as possible.
