Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Nursery Manager to oversee the daily operations of our childcare facility. The ideal candidate will possess strong management and leadership skills, with a passion for early childhood education and child development. This role involves ensuring a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children while maintaining high standards of childcare and organisational efficiency. The Nursery Manager will be responsible for leading a team of staff, developing programmes, and fostering positive relationships with parents and the community.
Responsibilities
- Manage the overall operation of the nursery, including staff supervision, scheduling, and resource allocation.
- Lead and motivate a team of childcare professionals to deliver high-quality care and educational programmes.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate age-appropriate activities that promote children's development across all areas.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and safeguarding regulations.
- Build strong relationships with parents, providing regular updates on their children's progress and addressing any concerns promptly.
- Organise staff training sessions to promote professional development and maintain high standards of childcare practice.
- Oversee administrative tasks such as record keeping, budgeting, and maintaining accurate documentation for regulatory compliance.
- Promote an inclusive environment that respects diversity and encourages positive behaviour among children and staff.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the quality of care provided by the nursery.
Requirements
- Proven management experience within a nursery or early childhood education setting.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and develop a team.
- Experience working directly with children and understanding their developmental needs.
- Knowledge of childcare regulations, safeguarding procedures, and health & safety standards.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
- Childcare qualifications such as NVQ Level 3 in Childcare or equivalent are desirable.
- Valid driving licence is preferred to facilitate transportation duties if required.
- Passion for early childhood education with a genuine interest in child welfare and development.
- Organised, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities effectively.
