About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Bank Health Care Assistant/cook to join our friendly, professional team. This role offers variable hours per week, specifically to cover annual leave and or sickness and some on call duties, this could be in the week or the weekend. Applicants must be able to work days, evenings, and or nights, this role will suit someone who is very flexible and experienced in the care sector and has a cheerful, compassionate nature.
About Us
The Thorns is a beautifully decorated private care home set within its own grounds in Hest Bank. We provide high‑quality, person‑centred care for 13 elderly residents and pride ourselves on maintaining a warm, supportive environment for both residents and staff.
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
- Very reliable and flexible who is comfortable working alone or as part of a team.
- Uses sound judgment, shows initiative, and pays close attention to detail
- Driver essential
- A genuinely kind, honest and caring person.
- Someone who is able to adapt, who can fulfill housekeeping duties, some cooking but mainly person centred care duties.
- Experience & Qualifications:
- Experience as a Care Assistant is essential
- Level 2 (or above) in Health & Social Care is essential. Additional training is provided, a full induction programme and ongoing training to support your professional growth. Staff regularly update their skills through courses such as:
- Moving & Handling
- Infection Control
- Fire Safety
- Food Hygiene
- Requirements
- Good references
- Enhanced DBS check
- Authorisation to work in the EU
