We are seeking an experienced and motivated Lead Tissue Viability Nurse to provide expert clinical leadership and specialist care across the Velindre Cancer Centre.
This is a senior clinical role working autonomously to deliver a comprehensive tissue viability service, supporting patients with complex and chronic wounds, preventing pressure damage, and improving patient outcomes through evidence ‑ based practice, education, audit and service development.
You will act as the Trust’s specialist resource for tissue viability, supporting multidisciplinary teams, leading education and service improvement, and contributing to safeguarding, quality and safety agendas.
This post is a fixed term/secondment for 4 months from start date to meet the needs of the service. If you are interested in applying for the secondment position, you must obtain permission from your current line manager prior to applying for this post.
Main duties of the Job
The post holder will do the following:
Provide advanced specialist assessment, treatment and management of patients with complex tissue viability needs across inpatient and outpatient settings
Lead the prevention, monitoring and management of pressure injury across the Cancer Centre
Act as an expert clinical advisor on wound care, pressure damage prevention, specialist equipment and topical therapies
Lead and coordinate tissue viability education, training and professional development for nursing and multidisciplinary teams
Use audit, research and All ‑ Wales metrics to monitor outcomes and drive quality improvement
Support investigations, incident management and safeguarding
Contribute to service development, policy, guideline and pathway development
Represent the organisation at local, regional and All ‑ Wales tissue viability networks
