Activities Coordinator
Location: Golden Horizon Care Home ,Bewdley, Worcestershire
Hours: 20–30 hours per week
Salary: £13.00–£14.00 per hour, depending on experience.
We are looking for a warm, enthusiastic and creative Activities Coordinator to join our care home team in Bewdley.
This is a rewarding role for someone who enjoys spending time with older people and can bring energy, companionship and variety into their day. You will help create a lively and welcoming environment where residents feel involved, valued and connected.
The Role
You will be responsible for planning and delivering a varied programme of meaningful activities tailored to residents' individual interests, abilities and needs.
Your duties will include:
- Planning weekly and monthly activity programmes
- Organising group and one-to-one activities
- Encouraging residents to take part in hobbies, games, music, arts and crafts, gentle exercise and social events
- Supporting residents with birthdays, celebrations and seasonal events
- Arranging occasional outings and community-based activities
- Spending individual time with residents who may prefer one-to-one engagement
- Working closely with care staff and families to understand residents' interests and preferences
- Helping maintain photographs and records of activities and resident participation
- Supporting the home to create a positive, friendly and stimulating atmosphere
- Encouraging links with local schools, community groups, entertainers and other organisations
About You

- Confident communicating with older people and their families
- Well organised and able to plan activities independently
- Compassionate and respectful
- Reliable and willing to work as part of a wider care team
Previous experience as an Activities Coordinator, Activities Assistant, Care Assistant or in a similar care setting would be helpful, although the right attitude, enthusiasm and ability to engage with residents are equally important.
An Enhanced DBS will be required.
