Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Caretaker to oversee the maintenance and cleanliness of our premises. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that the environment remains safe, hygienic, and welcoming for all visitors and staff. Previous experience in commercial cleaning or janitorial services is highly desirable. Duties
- Perform routine cleaning and sanitisation of all areas within the premises, including offices, communal spaces, and washrooms
- Maintain cleanliness of floors, windows, furniture, and fixtures using appropriate cleaning equipment and products
- Ensure waste disposal is managed efficiently and bins are regularly emptied
- Conduct inspections to identify maintenance issues or hazards and report them promptly
- Restock supplies such as toiletries, cleaning materials, and stationery as needed
- Assist with minor repairs or organise repairs with external contractors when necessary
- Follow health and safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment for all staff and visitors
- Maintain organised storage areas for cleaning supplies and equipment
Requirements
- Proven experience in commercial cleaning or janitorial roles is preferred
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Good physical stamina to perform manual tasks including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to cleaning procedures
- Reliable, punctual, and professional in appearance and conduct
- Ability to work flexible hours if required, including early mornings or evenings depending on operational needs
