Overview:
Coffee Service Kitchen
The Alberts Deli – Richmond
Part-Time | Up to 30 hours per week
Weekday & weekend availability
We’re looking for a friendly, energetic and reliable person to join the team at The Alberts Deli.
This is primarily a Front of House role, but we’re particularly interested in finding someone who loves food and wants to learn more about working in the kitchen too.
You don't need to be a chef or an experienced barista. What matters more to us is that you're enthusiastic, hardworking, good with people and willing to get stuck in.
The Role
This is a genuinely hands-on job. On a typical shift you might:
- Welcome customers and provide warm, attentive table and counter service
- Make coffees and other drinks
- Take orders and payments
- Prepare sandwiches, salads and other deli dishes
- Help with food prep and plating in the kitchen
- Restock and keep our counters looking abundant and inviting
- Clear and reset tables
- Keep the deli, kitchen and workstations clean and organised
- Help wherever the team needs you during a busy service
We don't have a “that's not my job” culture. Everyone helps each other and takes pride in the whole deli.
We Particularly Want Someone Who…
Is interested in food.
You don't need kitchen experience, but you should be curious, hands-on and keen to learn. We want our FOH team to understand the food we serve, help prepare it and take pride in how it leaves the kitchen.
Is naturally good with people.
Friendly, confident and attentive without needing to be told to acknowledge a customer or clear a table.
Has initiative.
Someone who notices what needs doing and gets on with it.
Is reliable.
Turns up on time, works hard and can be counted on during busy services.
Is flexible.
Happy moving between the coffee machine, tables, counter and kitchen depending on what the day needs.
Previous hospitality, barista or kitchen experience is useful, but attitude and willingness to learn matter more.
What We Offer
- Flexible part-time hours, up to 30 hours per week
- Competitive pay based on experience
- Full coffee and kitchen training
- Staff perks
- The opportunity to learn more about food, coffee and hospitality
- A friendly independent neighbourhood business where good people can take on more responsibility as they develop
