Who we are
Drummond Heating is a second-generation family business with over 45 years in the industry. We work across some of the most technically demanding and prestigious sites in the region - elite hotels, private exclusive residences, schools, prisons, and Hampshire County Council contracts. We're not a volume contractor. We're a team of specialists who take real pride in doing the job properly.
We're growing - and we're looking for a Commercial Gas Engineer who wants to be part of something that's going somewhere.
What the role looks like
You'll be working on complex commercial plant rooms and multi-site contracts - service, maintenance, breakdown, and installation across gas, oil, heat pumps, and controls. This is a technically varied role where your expertise is genuinely valued, not just deployed.
- Planned and reactive maintenance across commercial and light industrial sites
- Fault diagnosis and repair on commercial heating systems and plant
- Commissioning and handover on new installations
- Working closely with a senior engineering team who know their stuff
What you need
- Commercially endorsed gas qualifications (COCN1/CODNCO1 as a minimum)
- ACS up to date and Gas Safe registered
- Proven experience in commercial heating environments
- Strong fault-finding skills and attention to detail that complex sites demand
- Full UK driving licence
Oil qualifications (OFTEC) and controls experience are a bonus - not a barrier.
What we offer
- £50,000–£60,000 basic depending on experience
- Company van + fuel card
- Employer pension
- WPA private medical insurance
- 23 days annual leave + bank holidays
- Overtime at 1.5x weekday / 2x weekend
- £1,500-£2,000 annual training budget + paid development days
- Annual performance bonus
- £750 referral bonus
- Full PPE and uniform provided
- Team events and service recognition
Why engineers stay here
We invest in the people who invest in us. Whether that's funding your next qualification, giving you the time to do a job right, or simply treating you like an adult - we do things differently to the typical contractor.
If you're technically strong, take pride in your work, and want a role where that's actually recognised, we'd like to hear from you.
To apply, submit your CV through Indeed or call us for a confidential conversation before committing to anything.
