We are seeking an experienced and approachable Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Advisor to join our team. This opportunity is available as either an interim contractor role or a permanent position.
The successful candidate will be confident managing HSE administration while maintaining a visible presence on the shop floor. You will work closely with production teams, build strong working relationships and promote a positive, practical safety culture across the business.
Working Hours:
This role operates on a 9-day fortnight, with every other Friday as a non-working day.
Monday to Thursday 7:30am to 4:15pm Friday 7:30am to 4:00pm
Alternate Friday Non-working day
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide practical HSE advice and support to managers, supervisors and employees.
- Maintain HSE records, procedures, reports and other administrative documentation.
- Spend regular time on the shop floor, engaging with production teams and monitoring working practices.
- Build effective relationships across production and other business functions.
- Support risk assessments, audits, inspections and incident investigations.
- Monitor compliance with relevant health, safety and environmental legislation.
- Identify opportunities for improvement and help implement corrective actions.
- Promote employee engagement and a proactive, positive HSE culture.
About You
You will be comfortable balancing detailed administrative work with a hands-on, visible approach in a production environment. You should be an effective communicator who can build trust, influence working practices and engage confidently with colleagues at all levels.
Experience in a manufacturing, engineering or production environment would be particularly valuable.
Interim Contractor Role:
- Initial three-month contract, with the possibility of extension.
- Immediate or short-notice availability is preferred due to the imminent departure of the current postholder.
- Paid through the agency on either an hourly or daily rate, to be discussed.
- 9-day fortnight working pattern as detailed above.
Permanent Role:
- Permanent position with company benefits.
- 25 days' annual leave.
