SWORD Engineering Ltd is an established engineering company based in Wem, Shropshire. Due to continued growth, we are looking for an experienced Fabricator / Welder to join our workshop team.
This is not repetitive production-line work. Every project is different, from conveyors and trommels to structural steelwork and bespoke material handling systems.
We're looking for someone who takes pride in producing high-quality work and wants to be part of a small, friendly team where their contribution genuinely matters.
Key Responsibilities:
- Fabrication of bespoke equipment from engineering drawings, including: conveyors, trommels, hoppers, access platforms, walkways, handrails & safety barriers, stairs
- Welding (MMA/MIG/Stick)
- Cutting, drilling and grinding
- Accurate marking out and assembly of fabricated components
- Reading and interpreting detailed engineering drawings
- Maintaining a safe, organised and tidy working environment
- Following company health and safety procedures at all times
Experience & Skills Required
- Time-served Fabricator / Welder with a minimum of 5 years' experience preferred.
- Competent MIG and MMA welding skills
- Ability to read and interpret detailed engineering drawings
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to work independently or within a small team
- Strong work ethic and pride in workmanship
- Good understanding of health and safety requirements
- Mechanical knowledge beneficial
Desirable
- Forklift Truck Licence
- Previous experience within heavy engineering, recycling or material handling industries
- Site installation experience (not essential)

8:30am to 4:30pm
