Job Summary
The Business Development Officer will support the implementation of the Community Catalyst project by helping to establish and grow the LOVO Lash & Brow Studio. The postholder will build partnerships, promote the project, recruit participants, support women for the eye brow the training and into self-employment/ employment as well as help develop a sustainable social enterprise that benefits women and the wider community.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development
· Oversee the studio refurbishment, launch and growth of the LOVO Lash & Brow Studio.
· Build relationships with training providers, local businesses and community partners.
· Promote the studio and encourage new customers and participants.
· Help identify opportunities to increase income and support the long-term sustainability of the project.
Project Coordination
· Coordinate the day-to-day activities of the project.
· Liaise with trainers, therapists and participants.
· Manage bookings and support the smooth running of the studio during operating times.
· Ensure activities complement LOVO's community programmes and permitted use of the premises.
Requirements
- Proven interest or experience in the financial services sector or community development work
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport quickly
- Basic math skills for data analysis, reporting, and understanding financial documents
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a dynamic environment
- Motivated self-starter with a passion for empowering women and supporting community growth
Supporting Participants
· Recruit women onto the programme.
· Support women throughout their training and enterprise journey.
· Signpost participants to business and employment support where appropriate.
Marketing and Promotion
· Promote the studio through social media, the LOVO website and community networks.
· Help organise promotional events and activities.
· Develop simple marketing materials.
Monitoring and Reporting
· Keep accurate records of project activities and participant progress.
· Monitor project outcomes and income.
· Provide regular updates and reports to the CEO.
General Responsibilities
· Follow LOVO policies and procedures.
· Promote equality, diversity and safeguarding.
· Represent LOVO professionally at meetings and events.
· Carry out other reasonable duties appropriate to the role.
Person Specification
Essential
· Experience in business development, project coordination or enterprise support.
· Excellent communication and organisational skills.
· Ability to build effective partnerships.
· Good IT, relational and administrative skills.
· Ability to work independently.
Desirable but not essential
· Experience in the voluntary, community or social enterprise sector.
· Knowledge of the beauty, wellbeing or training sector.
· Experience supporting small businesses.
Pay: £25.00 per hour
