About the Role
We are looking for a highly organised and motivated Workflow Administrator to join our busy GP Practice administrative team. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing and processing clinical correspondence, with a proactive approach ensuring information is accurately reviewed, coded, and assigned to the appropriate clinician or team member.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong administrative skills, attention to detail, and experience working in a healthcare setting.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Process incoming clinical correspondence, including hospital letters, reports, and test results.
- Accurately code clinical information onto patient records using EMIS.
- Forward workflow tasks to the appropriate GP, nurse.
- Manage and prioritise electronic workflow inboxes.
- Ensure correspondence is processed within agreed timeframes.
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with GDPR and NHS information governance requirements.
- Liaise with clinicians and administrative staff regarding workflow queries.
- Support the wider administration team as required.
- Participate in practice meetings, training, and quality improvement initiatives.
Essential Criteria
- Previous administrative experience.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong IT skills including Microsoft Office.
- Good communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Able to cope and work effectively in a high-paced environment.
- Understanding of confidentiality and data protection requirements.
Desirable Criteria
- Previous experience in a GP Practice or NHS setting.
- Knowledge of EMIS Web
- Experience of clinical coding and document workflow management.
- Understanding of medical terminology.
