The Role
We're looking for a hands-on Warehouse Supervisor to run the day-to-day operation of our warehouse at Unit 4, Woodcock Hill Estate, Harefield Road, Rickmansworth, Herts, WD3 1PQ. You'll oversee goods in and out, keep stock accurate, and make sure orders are picked, packed and despatched on time to meet our same-day despatch commitment. This is a working supervisor role — you'll lead from the front while managing the warehouse team.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise daily warehouse operations: goods in, put-away, picking, packing and despatch
- Ensure all orders received before midday are despatched same day via our courier partners
- Maintain accurate stock levels through regular counts and cycle checks, investigating and resolving discrepancies
- Book in deliveries from suppliers and check goods against purchase orders for accuracy and damage
- Carefully handle, inspect and pack high-value lighting equipment, batteries and accessories
- Coordinate with the sales and repairs teams on stock availability, customer orders and returns
- Manage courier bookings, shipping documentation and offshore/international shipments
- Keep the warehouse safe, clean and well organised, ensuring compliance with health & safety requirements, including safe storage and shipping of lithium-ion batteries
- Train, motivate and manage warehouse staff, allocating workload across the day
- Suggest and implement improvements to layout, processes and packaging
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience in a warehouse supervisor, team leader or senior warehouse role
- Experience handling high-value or fragile goods (AV, lighting, electronics or similar an advantage)
- Confident using stock management / order processing systems and Microsoft Office
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to getting orders right first time
- Able to work at pace to meet daily despatch deadlines
- Good communication skills and a practical, can-do attitude
- Physically fit — the role involves regular manual handling
- Forklift licence and knowledge of lithium battery shipping regulations (e.g. UN3480/3481) an advantage but not essential
- Living within a 30-45 minute commute of our Rickmansworth warehouse (WD3 1PQ) would be ideal
