Job Overview
We are looking for a reliable and experienced self-employed subcontract plasterer to join our growing team.
The ideal candidate will be highly skilled in all aspects of plastering and have their own tools and transport. We are looking for someone who takes pride in producing high-quality work, is punctual, and can work independently.
Duties
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and applying necessary primers or bonding agents
- Mix plaster to the correct consistency using hand tools or power mixers
- Apply plaster smoothly and evenly to walls, ceilings, and other surfaces using trowels and hawks
- utilise a variety of hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment to achieve desired finishes
- Carry out bricklaying and masonry tasks as required for specialised plastering projects
- Assist with carpentry tasks such as framing or fixing fixtures where necessary
- Repair damaged surfaces by patching or re-plastering as needed
- Work alongside other trades such as roofing and welding teams on larger projects
- Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to health and safety regulations at all times
Requirements
- Proven experience in plastering, masonry, or related trades such as bricklaying or carpentry
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment used in plastering
- Knowledge of roofing techniques and welding is advantageous but not essential
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and project specifications accurately
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail to ensure high-quality finishes
- Good physical fitness with the ability to lift heavy materials and work at heights if required
- Relevant qualifications or certifications in construction trades are preferred but not mandatory
- A valid UK driving licence is desirable for site access across multiple locations
