Peter Rhodes Feed Services specialises in on farm production of animal feed and has an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Milling Operative to join our dynamic team. This permanent position is well suited to an individual that has experience in agriculture and would like to gain hands-on experience in a thriving and supportive workplace.
We are based in Storwood, just outside of York. From here you will collect your machine and travel to farms located mainly within the North & North East of Yorkshire and County Durham.
Your responsibilities will include liaising with customers to produce the desired finished feed quality, always adhering to traceability legislation i.e., recording batch numbers of materials used and health and safety guidelines. In general, 65% of your working day will be feed production and 35% will be driving between farms. Experience of operating large farm machinery and computer-controlled equipment would be advantageous but not essential as full and comprehensive training will be given.
Upon your return to base, your responsibilities are to ensure any general maintenance of equipment is carried out and the cleaning down of equipment used.
Your working day length will vairy depending on time of year. 50-60 hours weekly is about average.
Occasional nights out will be required.
A current & full UK driving licence is required. No more than 6 penalty points.
No DD or DR endorsements.
