Process SME - UK, Manchester - 12 Month Contract
Our client, a global organisation within the pharmaceutical industry, needs a Process SME to join their large-scale CAPEX project based near Manchester. This is a fantastic opportunity for a professional in the life sciences sector to advancing their career within a globally recognised pharmaceutical environment.
What you’ll do:
- Understand the business objectives, project scope, schedule, and critical success factors.

Understand and engage all project stakeholders relevant to the SME role.

Participate in the capital project team during basic and detailed design phases, including involvement in equipment procurement.

Assess equipment needs and support the creation of equipment URS and technical specifications for design or purchase.

Understand your full project remit, including scope of work and interfaces with other SMEs and cross-functional teams.

Ensure all requirements are clearly documented and agreed upon with project stakeholders.
What you’ll need:
- Experience with small molecule API or Peptides

Extensive relevant capital project experience, with strong technical and execution exposure on major capital investments—ideally within the pharmaceutical or biotech sector.

Able to set the technical direction and have overall accountability for the entire scope of work from initial concept through to successful operation

Strong track record collaborating with design contractors and equipment suppliers on large-scale, complex projects, ensuring alignment, quality, and timely delivery across multidisciplinary teams.
