Production Supervisor
IWS Recruit are currently recruiting for an experienced Production Supervisor to join a busy manufacturing operation.
Location: Lancaster
Pay Rate: £14.00 – £15.69 per hour, depending on experience
Hours: Monday – Thursday 8:00am – 4:30pm | Friday 8:00am – 3:30pm
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced production professional who has previously managed a production team, or has provided long-term cover in a production management role.
You will take responsibility for leading a team of 5–10 production operatives, ensuring the production process runs smoothly, efficiently and to the required quality standards.

The Role
As Production Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the production operation, including:
- Leading and managing a team of 5–10 production operatives
- Planning and coordinating daily production activities
- Ensuring production targets and deadlines are achieved
- Allocating workloads and ensuring the team is appropriately resourced
- Monitoring productivity, quality and output
- Identifying and resolving production issues quickly and effectively
- Working closely with other departments to ensure production requirements are met
- Promoting and maintaining excellent health and safety standards
- Supporting and developing members of the production team
- Leading by example and supporting the production process.
About You
The successful candidate will have previous experience of running or managing a production team.
We will also consider candidates who have provided long-term cover for a Production Manager or Team Leader and have demonstrable experience of taking responsibility for the day-to-day running of a production team.
- Has proven experience managing or supervising a production team
- Is confident leading a team of 5–10 employees
- Has a strong understanding of production processes
- Can organise workloads and prioritise effectively
- Has excellent communication and people-management skills
- Is confident making decisions and dealing with production issues
- Has a strong focus on quality, productivity and meeting deadlines
- Understands the importance of health and safety within a manufacturing environment
- Is hands-on, organised and able to lead by example
