About this opportunity:
Gleneagles Equestrian Centre home to more than 40 horses and ponies, we offer a variety of lessons for everyone; beginners, novices, advanced, plus show jumping and cross-country. Hacking facilities include the nearby Itchen Valley Country Park. A family run business for over 45 years, situated in the beautiful Hampshire countryside. Our friendly instructors all hold British Horse Society qualifications and are experienced in teaching all levels of rider.
This is an exciting chance to join a fun team with considerable depth and breadth of experience. We are recruiting for an enthusiastic, kind, caring individual who is seeking to start a career working with horses. The successful candidate will be keen to learn and enjoy dealing with a wide range of horses. You will join a fun knowledgeable team who will help you to develop your skills and equip you for a wide range of future roles.
Duties will include but not limited to;
Feeding and watering.
Bandaging and booting.
Turning out and bringing in.
Mucking out.
Washing feed bowls.
Changing rugs.
Vet care – eg washing and treating wounds.
Making up haynets.
Tidying the yard.
Desired skills and qualities
Previous experience of working with horses would be very useful.

Desired qualifications
GCSE or equivalent, in maths and English C/4 desirable but not essential.
Applicant must not hold a level 2 qualification or above in Equine.
Possible progression
Genuine opportunity to join team on a permanent basis at the end of Apprenticeship.
Training Provided
Full training to be provided by the employer and KEITS at the place of employment. The applicant will be working towards gaining a Level 2 Equine Groom apprenticeship.
The learner will be allocated an industry specific training consultant who will provide both remote and on site visits throughout the apprenticeship.
The apprentice will work towards an End Point Assessment (EPA) at the end of their apprenticeship.
