Seahorse Bistro is a busy waterside cafe bistro in Bursledon, on the River Hamble. Join our dedicated team focused on giving exceptional customer service & great food to our visitors.
Our menu centres around breakfast, brunch, lunch, sandwiches, salads and locally roasted speciality coffee, with a focus on flavour, presentation and quality ingredients.
We’re looking for a Trainee Café Chef to join our growing kitchen team, helping to prepare high-quality breakfast, brunch and lunch dishes in a fast-paced environment.
If you are keen to learn, perhaps studying at Catering College or looking to step up to a new role, or someone who genuinely loves cooking, then you may be who we are looking for.
Most importantly, we want someone who , is eager to learn, communicates well, and wants to grow within our exciting independent business.
About the Role
This role could be full or part tme and is best suited to someone who enjoys working in a hands-on, collaborative environment where every team member contributes across all aspects of service, prep, stock management and daily operations.
Responsibilities
- Helping to prepare and cook breakfast, brunch and lunch dishes to a consistently high standard
- Follow all food safety, hygiene and allergen procedures
- Complete daily kitchen checklists and records accurately
- Maintain a clean, organised and compliant kitchen environment
- Work closely with management and colleagues to ensure smooth kitchen operations
Training we will give you
- Learn how to ensure excellent presentation and attention to detail on every plate
- Manage multiple orders efficiently during busy services
- Complete daily prep and ensure the kitchen is organised and ready for service
