Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the daily cleaning activities of the janitorial team to ensure all areas of the school are maintained to high standards of cleanliness and hygiene
- Conduct regular inspections of classrooms, hallways, restrooms, and communal areas to monitor cleanliness and address any issues promptly
- Train and support cleaning staff in proper cleaning techniques, health and safety procedures, and use of cleaning equipment and supplies
- Schedule shifts efficiently to cover all cleaning requirements during school hours and after-hours operations
- Maintain inventory levels of cleaning supplies and equipment, placing orders as needed to ensure smooth operations
- Promote a safe working environment by enforcing health and safety regulations and best practices among team members
- Communicate effectively with school management regarding maintenance needs or concerns related to cleanliness
Requirements
- Proven experience in commercial cleaning or janitorial roles with a strong understanding of cleaning procedures and standards
- Previous supervisory or team-leading experience in a cleaning or facilities management setting is highly desirable
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to cleaning operations
- Ability to motivate and manage a team effectively while maintaining high standards of work quality
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently
- Excellent communication skills to liaise with school staff and team members clearly and professionally
