Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the kitchen team to ensure efficient food production and service delivery
- Prepare, cook, and present a variety of dishes according to established recipes and standards
- Oversee food safety procedures, including hygiene standards and proper storage practices
- Manage inventory levels, order supplies, and minimise waste to optimise kitchen operations
- Train and mentor junior staff members in culinary techniques and safety protocols
- Collaborate with management on menu development, seasonal offerings, and special events
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of all kitchen areas in compliance with health regulations
- Ensure timely service during busy periods while maintaining high-quality standards
Experience
- Proven experience in a professional kitchen environment, ideally within a restaurant or hospitality setting
- Supervising experience with the ability to lead and motivate a team effectively
- Extensive knowledge of food production, preparation, cooking techniques, and presentation skills
- Strong understanding of food safety regulations and best practices in hygiene management
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure
- Experience in menu planning, food costing, and inventory control is desirable
- Previous experience serving customers or working within a hospitality context is advantageous
