The Avon Coroner’s Court is pleased to offer a rare opportunity to join our prestigious team of Court Ushers.
This unique role will see you complete a range of court-based, administrative and support duties, including completing pre-inquest tasks to ensure the scheduled inquests can proceed, supporting bereaved persons and other visitors to the court, quickly and accurately understanding and solving day-to-day issues arising from a wide range of sources, and operating the court audio-visual and recording systems.
We expect exceptional service for all our service users, who reflect the different backgrounds and cultures of the community across the former Avon area.
You will work closely with the Coroner Support Team, Coroner’s Officers and the Senior, Area and Assistant Coroners to ensure the smooth running, status and dignity of the court.
You must have experience of working directly with the public in a frontline role, possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and be able to operate technical audio recording equipment.
