We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Lecturer specialising in Computer Games Development and Animation to join our academic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging lectures, designing innovative curricula, and fostering a stimulating learning environment for students aspiring to excel in the fields of game design and animation. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of future industry professionals through high-quality teaching and mentorship.
Responsibilities
You will deliver engaging and industry-relevant teaching to students on Games Development programmes, which may include:
- Game design and development using various engines .
- 2D/3D asset creation and animation.
- Programming, scripting or blueprinting.
- Narrative design and storytelling for games.
- Industry workflows and project-based learning.
You may be called upon for short or long-term cover, including planned absences, sickness cover, or additional teaching needs.
Requirements
- We’ are looking for individuals who:
- Have a UK degree or equivalent qualification in Games Development, Computer Science, Digital Media, or a related field with extensive UK teaching experience at undergraduate level [this condition is mandatory]
- 28 days, annual leave for Academic Staff, including bank holidays and additional closure days over the Christmas period
- Free onsite car parking
- Possess teaching experience or industry expertise in game design, development, or animation.
- A teaching qualification is desirable but not essential.
- Are confident using industry-standard software and tools.
- Can inspire and support learners from diverse backgrounds.
