The Role
We are a well-established, family-run pest management company providing professional services to commercial and domestic customers across Northamptonshire.
We are looking for a qualified, reliable and customer-focused Pest Control Technician to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who takes pride in delivering high standards of service and enjoys working independently while being supported by an experienced and friendly team.
The successful candidate will manage a portfolio of commercial and domestic customers, carrying out inspections, treatments, proofing recommendations and preventative pest management in accordance with current legislation and industry best practice.
Duties
- Carry out planned pest control inspections and treatments at commercial and domestic premises.
- Identify pest activity and recommend effective treatment and prevention solutions.
- Safely apply rodenticides, insecticides and other approved control measures in accordance with current legislation and best practice.
- Complete accurate digital service or written reports and maintain detailed treatment records.
- Provide customers with clear advice on proofing, hygiene and pest prevention.
- Install, inspect and maintain monitoring equipment, bait stations and insect control devices.
- Carry out follow-up visits to ensure treatments have been successful.
- Maintain company vehicle, equipment and stock to a high standard.
- Work in accordance with Health & Safety legislation, COSHH and company procedures.
- Deliver excellent customer service and maintain a professional appearance at all times.
- Participate in an out-of-hours emergency call-out rota when required.
Essential Requirements:
- RSPH Level 2 Award/Certificate in Pest Management (or equivalent recognised qualification).
- Previous practical experience in commercial and domestic pest control.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage your own workload.
- Competent using mobile devices to complete electronic service reports, or able to complete written reports, where required
- Good knowledge of UK pest legislation, safe pesticide use and Integrated Pest Management (IPM).
Desirable
- Experience with bird proofing and proofing works.
- Experience working within food manufacturing, schools, healthcare or local authority environments.
- Knowledge of electronic fly control units and specialist pest monitoring systems.
- IPAF
- Membership of BPCA Registered, NPTA Membership or BASIS PROMPT CPD scheme.
Pay: £30,500.00-£33,000.00 per year
